We encourage newcomers to take their time in making a decision to become members. Often people attend for six to eighteen months before making a commitment to join All Souls. Whether a member or not, everyone is welcome to participate in the worship and ministry of All Souls Parish. When you are ready to consider membership, you will need to attend The Inquirer's Class. Church membership is a personal and corporate commitment which requires careful consideration.
In The Inquirer's Class the particular expectations of membership at All Souls are discussed in a small-group atmosphere, in addition to the larger issues of what it means to be part of a Christian community of faith.
Consistent with the requirements of The Presbyterian Church (USA), the specific expectations of membership adopted by the Session are:
- Holy Baptism in the name of the Trinity, recorded in the church
- Regular participation in worship
- Giving of one's time and talent for the ministry of Christ's Church
- Making a financial pledge each year for the work of Christ's Church and mission
- Intention to grow in Christian spiritual life and service
To begin the membership process, please call the Church Office for more information at (914)939-4300.
